Good Neighbor Checklist
-
Cars
Please park cars in your garage or driveway, not on the street.
Why: Cars parked on the street are at greater risk of vandalism. They create a safety hazard, restrict visibility, and clog passageways. They can block access to mailboxes, preventing mail from being delivered on time. When friends and family come to visit, they may park on the street temporarily.
-
Yards
Please keep yards mowed, trimmed, watered, and free of weeds.
Why: Curb appeal creates the first impression of our property. Your home may be clean and well-decorated inside, but if your yard is not properly tended, it can leave a poor first impression…not just for you, but for your neighbors, too. Bloomfield HOA can recommend affordable lawn service options, for any neighbors who may need them. Just contact an officer of the HOA (Ian Hanson 246-0542, or Joe and Jane Para 631-8189)
-
Pets
Please keep your pets tagged, your dogs leashed, and clean up after them.
Why: Pets are often our best and truest friends. Dogs need exercise, and our neighborhood is an ideal place for walking them. Some neighbors, especially children, may have a fear of unknown dogs, so keep dogs on a leash when outside your yard. When nature calls to your pet, make sure you clean up after them so your neighbor doesn’t have to.
-
Other Owner's Property
Please respect the property of others, as you would want them to respect yours.
Why: Some neighbors, especially those on the north side of Seminole Street, have large backyards. It is tempting for children to play in those yards. Make sure permission is granted before you or your children enter the yard of a neighbor.
-
Annual HOA Fees
Please pay your yearly HOA dues of $150
Why: The entrances to our neighborhood are the gateway into Bloomfield. We all share in the responsibility to keep them clean and well-maintained. Your dues provide the funds to accomplish that.
-
Safety
See Something, Say Something
Why: Many property crimes go unsolved because of a lack of timely reporting. Police say the first 48-72 hours after a crime is committed is crucial to solving the case.
